Curriculum

Lubrication School

Lubrication School is designed to reduce machine failures and replacement costs, stop costly bearing failures, improve meantime between failures, help you squeeze maximum life from lubricants and extend machine life by up to 10 times.  The Level 1 (Fundamentals) course helps you prepare for the ICML Level 1 Machine Lubrication Technician (MLT 1) OR Level 1 Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA 1) certification. The Level 2 (Advanced) course helps you prepare for the ICML Level 2 Machine Lubrication Technician (MLT II) certification.

 

Level 1 (Fundamentals)

Provides foundational training in industrial lubricants, machinery lubrication and oil sampling. It lays a strong foundation for establishing a best practice lubrication program.

Covers advanced machinery lubrication topics including lubricant selection, troubleshooting lubrication problems metrics, PMs and more

Michael commenced his career in Agricultural and Automotive Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Failure Analysis. His experience spans 40 years in many countries around the world (Europe, Arabian Gulf, Africa and New Zealand/Australia) and joined Noria Services as Training Consultant in 2013. Michael is also an experienced and qualified Technical Writer and has produced technical/engineering manuals and documentation across a vast industry base (Marine, Agricultural, Automotive, Aviation, Military, IT Software, Mining, Lubrication plus many more). He has vast experience in managing an Oil Analysis Laboratory and the development and the implementation of a modern Laboratory Information Management System (managing samples from sample registration, laboratory sample testing, interpretation of results by laboratory experts, and reports to the customer). He implemented a full QA system both for testing and data control. Michael also undertook customer training in lubrication technology, oil analysis results and failure analysis. As a Noria Training Consultant, Michael delivers training programs for management and maintenance personnel at all levels of expertise. Michael holds the following ICML certifications: MLT I and MLA II.

Jim Fitch is the CEO and a co-founder of Noria Corporation. He has a wealth of “in the trenches” experience in lubrication, oil analysis, tribology and machinery failure investigations. Over the past two decades, Jim has presented hundreds of courses on these subjects and has published more than 200 technical articles, papers and publications. He serves as a U.S. delegate to the ISO tribology and oil analysis working group, and has been awarded numerous patents. Since 2002, Jim has also been director and board member of the International Council for Machinery Lubrication.

Noria’s Alejandro Meza offers more than 20 years of experience in the lubricant industry, technical services, quality assurance, training, consulting and development in Brazil, Mexico, the United States and the Americas region. He has represented Noria in Brazil, developing and delivering training programs along with field and consulting services, and has also delivered Noria services in Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Surinam. He is certified by the International Council for Machinery Lubrication as a level II Machinery Lubrication Technician and a level III Machine Lubricant Analyst.

Wesley Cash is the director of technical services for Noria Corporation. He serves as a senior technical consultant for Lubrication Program Development projects and as a senior instructor for Noria’s Oil Analysis I and Machinery Lubrication I and II training courses. Wes is an enthusiastic, relatable speaker who connects effortlessly with his audience. His style and easy-to-understand approach to the curriculum creates an interactive forum for learning. With his background as a former construction worker and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) technician, Wes brings practical knowledge to which students can relate. With Noria, he has helped numerous companies transform their current lubrication practices into world-class programs. Wes is also a regular contributor of technical articles for Machinery Lubrication magazine. He holds Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA) Level III and Machine Lubrication Technician (MLT) Level II certifications through the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML), and is a Certified Lubrication Specialist through the Society for Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).
